    Soviet Afghan camo?

    it looks like the camo pieces cut in the shape of puzzle pieces are separate pieces of fabric sewn on the uniform. The pants look like standard khaki tankers pants.

    Looks vaguely like the below early Afghan pattern used by their commandos (I found this photo on the internet years ago - sorry that I can't give credit to the owner).  If the camo is handmade, maybe the tanker got his inspiration from this pattern?
