Spanish Combat Coat with Odd Stitching

Post by wnewmanhp on Fri Aug 28, 2015 1:45 pm

Any ideas why this presumably Spanish combat coat would have such shoddy stitching? It looks like someone was in a hurry!

    Any guesses are appreciated!

Spanish uniform construction was not always good. This looks like a possibly unissued M67 "Garbanzo" jacket. The buttons type might offer some more information.

Yeah, that's high quality Spanish work for you! I have dug through piles of these M67 and NATO jackets with every single one of them having different styles of buttons, stitching patterns, number of pockets, etc. You SCORED though, finding one with an actual label!

Agreed!  This is the best M67 I've ever seen in terms of condition and a label!  Huge size too, which is very unusual for the time period. I've seen uniforms that would barely fit an average US 12 year old. Famine does stunt growth! Manufacturing sloppiness does not detract from this one at all.

Very interesting. I'll have to share some of the other Spanish items I've found because much of it has perfect stitching and looks to be very high quality.

Don't know why this didn't post earlier. Anyway, can't call it mint because I have worn it a few times Very Happy but still nice!
