Here is another photo of a Bangladeshi Camo Uniform with insignia. I do not know what unit the insignia belongs to. This is an issued Bangladeshi Camouflage Uniform that was brought back from Somalia by a U.S. Soldier who was on UN Duty in Africa in 1993. Bangladesh had a contingent of soldiers in Somalia as a part of the UNITED NATIONS OPERATION IN SOMALIA (UNOSOM). Shirt: 5 button front. Button-down chest pockets. There are small press snaps on the corners of the pockets to hold them down for a sharper look. Lower button-down cargo pockets. Button cuffs and buttoned epaulets. Pencil pocket on the right sleeve. Pants: Button fly. 1 left cargo. Back right pocket. 3 British-style button-down belt loops.
ooo!!! I have one of these and have been wondering what it is! It was sold to me as "Pakistani", but I never thought it was. Supposedly used in Somalia.
I acquired one of these awhile back, matching set of the bright woodlandish pattern. Pattern has been around since the 90's, but still in use. It would seem the "white" branch ones are older and the "yellow" ones like this one are more recent.
The material can best be described as "sweatshirt", and is very soft and not very durable.
This one has red piping around the collar, not sure of the significance. The pockets close by way of tiny, near useless snaps, and the epaulets are lined with cardboard to give them shape. There is velcro for name, rank on right sleeve, and unit on left.
