Red and Grey Barbed Wire Six Color Desert

Here's an interesting one. Undocumented barbed wire in a BDU cut, possibly from Libya or Kuwait. Most likely Chinese made for the African/Middle Eastern market.

Nice set.  I have a similar set that has a "Made in Korea" label. Kuwaiti National Police and Installation Guards used this pattern.  I acquired the below green version at the same time as the desert set, but I do not know if any country has adopted it.

    From memory
Were these produced and sold by Joe Francis-Survival Research about 15 years ago
I think there were green and Desert versions
Always assumed they were used in the Sudan, but after that?

Joe Francis was indeed a source of the green sets from the early 1990s.  I also remember Sudan being mentioned as a possible user of it, but I don't think I've ever seen any evidence of it.  Joe was not the best source of information, though he also wasn't a bad source if you asked him the right questions.

BTW, Joe died back in 2007 (maybe earlier?) so whatever inventory he still had (and he did have inventory at that time) might be out there on the market.

I don't recall him having the desert colored version.  He might have.  Unfortunately his website is long since offline so we can't check.

Looks like the tags on your green one are the same as mine. Almost certainly from the same manufacturer.

    Hello
The drawing of the pattern is identical than the Libyan pattern: http://iacmc.forumotion.com/t4294-libya
Not the Kuwait pattern : http://iacmc.forumotion.com/t3130-another-kuwait-camouflage

I'm loving the colours on both sets!

Very Nice piece! I love the pattern, it is kinda like a 6 color knock off but it has its own finesse!
