During the last month, the servicemen of the 95 Airborne brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been testing new model of low combat boots under different weather conditions, during the execution of training and combat tasks that are as close as possible to the real ones.

The workgroup conducted interim and final examinations of the boots under tests, met with test participants to survey, analyze and collect feedback, comments and suggestions, in particular after the large-scale maneuvers "Maroon Beret-2018".

At this stage, changes and refinements are being prepared to improve the prototype low boots.
In the future these boots are supposed to replace the "Type B" (summer) high boots.

It is worth mentioning that meshy material of the boots top has many disadvantages, and is forbidden for use in boots of the US Armed forces.

It is worth mentioning that meshy textile does not work at all in southern steppe of  Ukraine: there are a lot of steppe plants that ripen from May to September, i.e. practically all the summer, and such plants are spread by prickly seeds. This grid of the meshy textile will be filled with burrs / spines / prickly seeds very quickly, and it is not so easy to clean the mesh from them.
So no mesh is practical, only Cordura or similar textiles.

I like the new beret badges quite a bit. Very nice and distinctive. I also see the flaw with the mesh boots in certain terrain. They certainly wouldn't work well around where I live. Too rough and too wet for such a design.

Surely! Canadians have tried mesh materials for their desert boots, but refused from this idea as far as I know.
US army don't mess with mesh, zippers and other bells and whistles for their combat boots!

Very nice sample of uniform! This is real combat uniform for Special Forces and marines!

Just below the army cross there is inscription:
ВЛАСНІСТЬ ЗБРОЙНИХ СИЛ УКРАЇНИ. НЕ ДЛЯ ПРОДАЖУ.
i.е.
PROPERTY OF THE UKRAINIAN ARMED FORCES. NOT FOR SALE.

It is not easy to get such uniform even in Ukraine.

Steve, do you need any help in translation of the inscriptions on the labels of the VARAN uniform?
