    Andrew,
Check under the leather liner and see if it has two crossed swords. If it does, it is Czechoslovakian. I THINK that is what you have here.

It does not. It has a circula stamp that ethier says "KI-SP" or "KJ-SP". Manufactered in ethier 62 or 82 according to the "9/(6 or 8?)2" stamp I think.

I think Dutch steel helmets look basically like US M1 helmets...

This is a pretty standard helmet design for the Warsaw Pact countries (and exported around the world too, of course). I have examples from Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Bulgarian, Poland, and the Soviet Union. The differences are pretty subtle. None of mine are handy at the moment (sorry!) so I'll just say I also think it is likely Czech. At least that's the most common one to find around here in the US. In a week or so I'm going to dig into my helmets and I'll take a look at that point.

I would have said Polish or Czech - without the crossed swords stamping I'd go with Chris and say Polish.

Oooo... and don't the Czech helmets have a 4 point chinstrap system? I think so, therefore I change my vote away from Czech Very Happy I wish my helmets were stuck behind a mound of stuff right now.
