Third ERDL pattern known as "Delta ERDL pattern"

I remember somewhere in this forum, we talked about "myth" of Delta patterned ERDL but couldn't find it.

Among collectors, some said it doesn't exist, some said do but SUPER RARE.

I'm very curious about this particular pattern.

Few sources said that "Delta" ERDL pattern is similar to brown dominated ERDL, but it was designed for Mekong Delta environment but later adopted for Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) but with different cut of uniforms.

A third variation, known as 'Delta' from an alleged use in the Mekong Delta area of South Vietnam was issued in the early 1970s, so that by the end of the Vietnam War American troops wearing camouflage combat dress had become the norm.

The USMC continued wearing the transitional ‘Delta’ ERDL pattern becoming general issue in the mid 1970s. It was to be used to equip the Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) whilst on tropical missions.

So my question.... Would Vietnam era Delta ERDL pattern look like RDF camo but with slanted pockets?

The reason I started this thread because I'm very interested in what other people's opinions about it.

I agree. I've owned several jackets that have both Brown Dominant and Green Dominant on them. There doesn't appear to have been too much concern about the mixing and matching.

Now, the Transitional uniforms made for RDF are a different beast. As I remember there are three different colorations. There is the Brown and Green, like ERDL, but also one with what would become M81 Woodland colors. The RDF uniform was made in both non-ripstop and ripstop, though the non-ripstop version appears to have been produced in miniscule numbers. The uniform was also produced in OD ripstop and 6 Color Desert.

I'm away from my stuff right now so I can't double check the Transitional right now.
