What did I buy ????

Paid $60 for both plus shipping , seller description:

Real rare "soviet?" woodland type uniform from Kazakhstan.
I got this one from a friend of me who got it from his grandfather (brought it back from Kazakhstan)
Unfortunately there are no signs or stamps in it and it is a little faded out.
I have never seen such a camouflage pattern before,

2. Kazakhstan Urban Camouflage?
I also got this from my friend, and I also don't know what it really is because I've never seen it before.
There was some paper from Kazakhstan in it, so I think this is also from Kazakhstan.
It is made of a material that is a little bit thinner then on normal uniforms, so I think it may be some kind of oversuit.
Nice swirly camouflage pattern which looks a little bit pinkish.
Seems to be a rare piece of gear, too.

That 'urban' pattern is effective for sure ... can hardly make the pockets out!


(Don't know that it works that well against grass though!)

First one is possibly commercial stuff? The cut certainly isn't traditional for that part of the world. Neither is the pattern. But whatever it is... I like it!

The second one looks to be a variation on Soviet "Woodland" (Amoeba), but it's not possible to see the cut. If it has two open topped lower pockets and one open topped upper pocket then it's likely some sort of para-military security force or pure commercial.

OK first the "pink" woodland , yes it has all open top pockets , 2 on bottom and one on top , and bright shiny chrome buttons .
Very thin fabric , I cant imagine is is a commercial fashion piece , and it would not work for hunting except maybe in down town Sarajevo, there is a pink glow to it that does not show up in the pics , and the closest pattern I can link it too is Moldavian Woodland , but I could not match it up so its not it .




The woodland set is either very bad commercial set , or homemade set of some sort , I have not been able to match this pattern up with anything , the fabric is very heavy , the size is XL and it has features just like Military unis of the east Europe are , like older unis , adjustable leg and arm cuffs via buttons , waist cinch , the pockets are very small , and the buttons are a clear plastic and I do not think they are original to the set they look way too new and the thread is a different color then the rest of the uni , the shoulder Eppulates are very narrow , so its just a weird set , hunter, Military, insurgent , who knows , probably never know .. still cool !!

The configuration of open topped pockets is a fairly common cut. I've seen work uniforms for BGS, BW, and NVA with the same configuration. I've also got a blue/purple amoeba set from the Ukraine with the same cut, thin cloth, but conventional buttons. I was told the latter was for subway police in Kiev or something like that. So I'd guess this is some sort of private or public security service.

The woodland set is interesting. Probably commercial, but it could be one of those surprise items which was used by a semi-official or quasi government organization. Too little info to say.
