Austrian "Shoulder Sleeve Insignia" Thread

Bundesadler ("federal eagle") patch. Worn by all Austrian troops (in Austria and usually on left side)

That's all what I have so far. I don't really collect them because they're way too expensive. On ebay they're up to about 20$. In the army we paid just 2€ each or sometimes got them for free! Above you see the patches of my units in basic military service and the last two I got from a friend. He used to be in that unit.

Nice pictures! I hear you about the prices, though. I've never understood how patch collectors can drive up the costs of something produced in the tens of thousands (or millions) so high.

I have some unit insignia that hangs off of the shoulder straps, similar to types used by many African nations. The cloth is the same as KAZ NEU so I presume they were for that uniform. However, I've never seen pictures of them in use. I'm wondering if it was an experimental trial?
