    Trial Navy working Uniform patterns

Post by misanthropic_gods on Fri Dec 18, 2009 4:23 pm

I have been jonesing for some of the NWU blue digital uniforms for a while now..and I finally saw my chance to grab some for a good price on E-Bay, when I started looking around I found pieces of all 4 patterns tested during the "Task Force Uniform" trials in Winter of 2004/05. I now have every cam pattern issued by the US in the last 25 years

    Type A- Blue Dominant

    Type B- Gray Dominant

All of the TFU pants had 1 button closure with elastic on the cargo pockets, an Elastic waistband (The Same as the MCCUU) and a zipper fly

    Type C- Blue Dominant

    Type D- Gray Dominant

All of the Shirts have the classic BDU 4-Pocket configuration

Here are some pics of the testing during the winter of 2004/05

now which one did they officially adopt? I have NWU-A and that seems to be the one that is most abundant so I would assume that. Also anyone know where I can get NWU B-D?

As an update, I did a comparison between NWU-A trial and the Issue NWU

The issue stuff REALLY pops in the colors more, the trial stuff is over all more grey, in the issue set the lights are lighter and the darks darker. Its interesting to see the comparison between an accepted trial pattern and the actual product.

Did you ever notice the same 4 people from the trial comparison charts appear in many of those "in-use" photos? lol!

Oh yeah, Snow MARPAT is hard to find, I bought my piece from Owen when he was just happening to sell one. I am still seeing the NWU Trial patterns around from time to time, want me to PM you next time I scope some?
