That flight suit looks very interesting. Never seen a camouflaged version before. Are the tan ones more common than the camouflaged ones?
    thanks

I've got several different DPCU versions, I think there might be different versions for Army helicopter pilots/crew and RAAF. I'm pretty sure this one is RAAF - has the velcro for a RAAF sqn patch on breast. Sorry, don't know about tan ones - I only collect camo ones...

Nice ... never seen the 2 piece DPDU flight suit before ...

I always thought the 2 pc were AAAVn but this blows that theory out of the water ..

I have the 3rd pattern DPDU one piece flight suit and it is also an earlier date. I have a nagging feeling they don't do flight suits in DPDU anymore but rather issue 'off-the-shelf' plain khaki flight suits from US sources - but then again I could be wrong on this too!

Can you post or pm some pics of your one piece + tags - I'd be interested to see...

    Here's a shirt I bought back in 2003 when I started collecting.
I took it to Australia in 2005 and showed it to some ppl and they all agreed it was a fake. Although being a bit devesated by this news I thought, ok a nice sample in my collection.
But last year I met a guy who worked in DMO, being respondsible for all uniform samples procured by the ADF. When I showed him the picture of the lable, he adviced me, that this shirt was 'achived' by Defence on December 24th 2002 as an interrim procurement.

I remember seeing these 'Perry' DPDUs on EBay and dismissed them as being Far East copies. Now that I've had a close look at the tag they are definitely official in some sort of capacity and I now regret not picking a set of these 'fakes'. A nice adjunct to the confused development of DPDU.

I wish I could get hands on a matching trouser. But I haven't seen them on Ebay ever since I bought this shirt.
So if any of you has one, please let me know.

I really don't want to disappoint anyone but...

Most people see the arrow symbol on an item and automatically think that that it must be "official issue"... but the broad arrow symbol can easily be printed like any other text on a label, by commercial manufacturers, or fake or reproduction uniform producers.

Just look at the tag, they couldn't even spell "comouflage" right...!

As I said before I remember these on Ebay from a while back, copies produced in Pakistan.

    Guys,
I got one of these sets from Leo Karlin of World Militaria in Plano, TX way back when I 1st started collecting.
It is not a bad Wink set and I have been offered good money for it. pirat I cannot remember what I paid for it. Exclamation I did not see any like these when we were in Pakistan right after 9/11 went down. Bruce

If Martin and Peace_benny think it is a fake, I'm going to throw my vote behind theirs. I agree that the "Comouflage" is pretty much a dead giveaway. Pakistani fakes can be extremely convincing. I've got a couple sets of CADPAT AR that are amazing copies, complete with convincing tags (no spelling mistakes even Wink).

Leo had all kinds of commercial stuff for sale as well as kick arse originals. He's as honest as the day is long, however anybody can be duped. And just because someone is willing to offer a lot of money for something means absolutely nothing other than someone doesn't know it's a fake. A few months ago someone paid an astronomical sum ($400 or was it EUR 400) for a fake set of Spanish Rocoso that can be had for $80. The pics on eBay fooled me at first.

When were the first Mk 3 uniforms issued? I have one with all of the features of the Type 1 Mk 3 but it has production tags dated 2002. Camera's down right now, so no piccies.

2003 but there could have been some late 2002. Are the tags clear? If it is 2002 then they are probably some of the first manufactured/issued. Post some pics of the tags when your camera is up..

Good find. This shows that the transition in manufacturing from Mk1 to Mk2 likely occurred late 2001.
