    Hi Guys.

Here's an Air Traffic Controll lid, from my British collection, this one is unissued, and is very similiar in appearance to the CVC ( Combat Vehicle Crewman ) lid, they share the same shell, and have the same ballistic properties.ATC helmet Dsc01663

Side profile, the cut outs in the shell are to allow for a communication headset.

Never seen one of these before...

This is made to be worn with a headset of some sort, yes?

    Hi Ben.

Yeah, the lid is designed to be worn with headhones ,typically manafactured by Amplivox, these lids are very much the same as a US CVC lid ,worn by Tankers and the like.

I got this one as un-issued,and was sitting on a shelf, looking all lonesome ,so I bought it....the trouble is the headphones ,are rarer than hens teeth,so it may well stay un-complete for quite a while.

    Thanks again Ben cheers

If it looks lonely, you have to buy it to give it company! Cool

Very Good point, and as these type of lids are cheap on the surplus market,I could not resist Wink
