    got a ? about ww1 uniform top

    I am looking to buy this ww1 jacket and it has two disc collers and one says U.S and then 311 under neath it and the other one says HQ 311. Does anyone know what they mean or what division this uniform was at? Also it has a master sargent patch on the one side

    The 311th was in the 78th Division. Your jacket (or at least the collar devices) belonged to a soldier attached to Headquarters. Did you end up purchasing this jacket? What version jacket is it? Any photos?

    The 311th served overseas in the AEF in the 78th Division. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/78th_Infantry_Division_(United_States)
