    Post by helm40 Sun Mar 28, 2010 11:46 am

This set was worn by me in the First Gulf War. They are well worn as we only had two sets. I turned one in and kept this one.

Always great to see someone's own uniform!

I've never understood how a soldier could ever part with all his uniforms after completing service. Even if a soldier doesn't want them for himself, there's kids/family to think of. And as we all know, once they are gone they are gone. I'm glad to see you're hanging onto a set.

Personally, I've always liked the OD badging on 6 color BDUs. Dunno why, just do Very Happy

Yes, you always keep something. I always ask my dad why he didnt keep his uniforms. I would love to have them now.

Yeah it is difficult to keep all the many patterns that I wore over 24 years in the military. When I told my older brother what they get for a set of the old Nam era tigerstripes, he really was amazed as they burried connex boxes full of new tigerstripes, including some of the golden tigerstripes. I wanted his best friends SOG knife, uniforms and SF beret, but it all got lost in the shuffle after Col. Charles Thompson passed away. He started Delta Force with Col. Charles M. Beckwidth. Sad as it was part of history that is lost forever. Sgt P.

    Camo-fiend,
I will have to contact my brother as it has been over the 20 year period for full disclosure as in which area of Vietnam where they buried the loot. pirat I am sure that we could find it unless it was raided by Viet Cong. Shocked The cost for airfare alone would be worth it if the uniforms were intact. I did see that Steve H. did sell a pair of golden tiger camouflage. Maybe in his travels, he came accross the hidden stash of tiger uniforms. Cool Sgt P.

Nice set! I too kept alot of my stuff from then, and from over the years. In addition to my ODS brainbucket and kit, I also have my OIF lid and uniforms. With samples of the other BDU's, ACU and OD Jungles in the mix.

Easy Gee, I need to take new pics of all my stuff, since I lost quite a bit awhile ago when my old laptop went belly up on me. I am in Iraq right now, so the new pics will have to wait for bit. Here are a couple old threads with some of my stuff...

That's a really nice set you have. I love this pattern. I loved it the first time I saw it but sort of strayed away when the 3-color came out. Now, I'm back. I love the OD insignia too. It's interesting to see some of these with a mix of OD and the tan badges.
