i was in switzerland last time and saw some soldier standing in front of an government building in their Desert TAZ 90, using my rusted German and i think they said they were deployed for exercise with the italian so they were issued with it. I been in Swiss for around 3 months and try my luck on surplus store, but no luck.....

Any shop owner in Switzerland selling any legitimate issue TAZ 90 stuff would be swiftly brought to court if caught. So don't hold your hopes up for finding anything in shops.

The desert version is one of the rarest uniforms on the face of the planet right now. I'm sure someone has a piece or two of it, but so far I've not seen any.

If you're ever in Geneva, try the Planpalais market on Sundays. I saw Taz 90 being sold there when i lived there. Just too dumb to pick any of it up at the time. Desert wasn't about then but i really think you won't be finding that any time soon if ever.

However, I will be there in a few weeks time on a Sunday .........

Richardo.ch also does not have the protection of paypal (although i hate ebay and paypal, they have some uses).
You could send your money and get nothing and be able to do nothing about it unless you live nearby.

Not saying don't use but but caveat emptor .............

It's been years since I bought through them, but I somehow managed to do it. Either I used a German address or they have since changed their policies.

Hey where would I be able to aquire Taz90? Ebay seems to not have much if any. I don't really care about patches as I'm mostly interested in a simple jacket, trousers, cap, and possibly helmet cover. Any help is appreciated.

They come up for sale every so often, but the uniform is controlled and that's why they aren't easy to find. European eBay sites tend to have more pieces more frequently. However that's a tricky and expensive thing to navigate if you're in the US.

Most likely because they are either the same seller, or affiliated ..

If you want a TAZ90 field jacket at bargain price, this is your chance..

    TAZ90 - Page 2 Empty TAZ 90 and SWORKER

Post by fourtycoats Fri Dec 30, 2016 5:59 pm

I just came across this statement in a forum dated 2010. I can not attest to it's veracity but it seems convoluted enough to be credible.

"Uniforms in Swiss Taz90 camo with labels printed in English "Made in Switzerland" were issued to soldiers serving in the Bosnia-Hercegovina Peacekeeping Mission from January 1996 through March 2001. The Swiss Headquarters Support Unit (SHQSU) operated under the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). One of the Swiss Federal Council requirements for this participation was to not provide direct military assistance, which included uniforms. To get around that obstacle, the neighboring principality of Lichtenstein was employed with manufacturing Swiss uniforms. Lichtenstein itself has no standing army, and this gave them the required "neutrality" to supply Swiss soldier uniforms. Part of this neutral approach were labels printed in English. Also, the military emblems and patches identiying the Swiss soldiers were also printed in English, as were most other countries' who provided support to the United Nations.

Any unissued uniforms were surplused after the deployment ended. The labels say "SWORKER" with a Swiss flag emblem printed on them."

Acquired this Sworker made set  about 5 years ago.
I was watchng one set on eBay and it  went for a lot of money, the seller then immediately  listed a second one with a very low BIN ..Crazy.
I've heard a couple  different stories about  this type of Taz90,  possible  Lichtenstein connection is very interesting.

Blouse seems identical to most  issue Taz90 blouses I've seen,  the trousers lack the zipper pocket on the right cargo.
Sizing is a bit odd.. Blouse fits more like an XL, while  trousers are quite huge, so, true to the size.

Fibre content label is in German .
