I found this one at a Thrift Store, looks nothing like my other regular models, but it has some similarities with my FJ model.
Now, i have no idea what it is so here are some pics to see if you guys have a better idea .

Foliage loops in the same location on both jackets

Same type of elbow pads on both.

I'm pretty sure it's an earlier model of the standard ground troops uniform, 1970s or early 1980s? Any stamps? Should have the date.

That was my first thought, but I don't believe the standard East German Rain Pattern field uniform has the padded elbows like the Paratrooper version of the uniform. Perhaps it's a version used by reconnaissance troops?

Your jacket seems to be a 1967 1st pattern type B. Check the chest pockets lining to tell if it's a B1 (early production) or B2 (later production). B1's have a thin fabric lining. B2 uses same camo cloth for lining.

    Best regards

Are you referring to the chart posted on this thread on the DDR WAF forum relating to rain pattern uniforms (see post #64):

    http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98349&highlight=rain+pattern+uniform&page=5

I don't think I've seen the reinforcing material on the elbows of non-airborne uniforms before. But I don't have early regular NVA uniforms, just the para version. Did this elbow padding ever exist for conventional uniforms?

Is it actual thick padding/cussioning on the elbows or just a cloth reinforcement?

There is no padding under the elbow reinforcement.
By the photos on the Wehrmacht Awards awards i think i narrowed down to a 1970s model, regular infantry jacket.
Thanks for all the help guys.
