Helmet and cover ID needed please!

I was wondering if anyone out there could give me the model type of this helmet please?
I think it's French as the dome stamp reads, GIAT-ARS 1986.

Also,what nationality is the cover,and do the signatures add anything to the value?

Yep its a French F1 the cover is a french desert one might date from Gulf War 1

Looks like someone non-French wrote on the helmet. That's because "21st" and "ABN" are pretty distinctly American notations. My guess is this was a trade between an American and a Frenchmen with something to remember the original owner by.

Hi Andy.

Yep,as before from Graham and Steve,it's French F1 (first series) model, the shell being painted is quite rare, I have many F1's and only one painted in a similar paint scheme to yours,the writing does appear to be US as Steve mentioned, I go with the Trade theory entirely.

The Daguet Cover, is Gulf War 1 issue, as it has a drawstring, the second Daguet covers had a rubber rim fitted, these were issued from 2003 onwards.

To me looks like you have a very collection Operation Daguet F1,highly collectable piece, the writing on the shell certainely add's historical value, and I guess to the right collector financial value too!!!

Is it missing its chinstrap?
