Thanks, It was sold on ebay as an M-1 helmet liner. IT just caught my eye that it did not look quite right. A good deal at about 27.00 in cluding shipping.

Not sure if anyone has noticed but lately there are LOADS and LOADS of these on Ebay UK-all unissued and all with their instruction booklets. They arent single items either with quite a few sellers having quantities of them.

This is a good thing in one way as they can now be picked up unissued for around £50 but my question is where did all these come from and where-one or two maybe where squaddies may have swapped or traded but the quantities involved baffle me Shocked Shocked

Thanks Mate,I guess lids can't get any more modern than this Wink

And yeah I have noticed tonnes of these on ebay, makes me wonder whether they are all the real deal or not, either way I wish I had a load of these,I would be sitting on a goldmine,I could flog the lot and buy a genuine M2 as used in St Eglise Laughing

But on a semi serious note, how on earth did someone manage to get hold off a load of Unissued ACH's, and be able to sell them at half -price on ebay...dunno Suspect

Thanks mate, I got this one as part of a trade, but I do own another Mk6a, which I paid £30 for, at my local surplus store!!!!

I never buy lids from ebay, they are well over priced in comparison to surplus shops.

That is a bummer Mate, I suppose you are restricted to online shops Sad

I must admit ( as sad as it is) one of lifes little pleasures is visiting my local Surplus store and digging through their storage bins to find kit on my wish list...I would hate to live miles, and miles from a Surplus store Wink

Love this helmet and is perfect in every way other than missing 2 pads.

Anyone got a couple spare please?

    French F1 1st Model with Desert Cover+Goggles.

Nice 1st model F1 with goggles and Desert Cover-cover is the later type and not correct for the helmet so am after an early desert cover if anything available.

Making NO claims whatsoever regarding the authenticity of the paintwork-thats how it came to me.

Liner appears to be dated 1967,Nape 1972. chincup is a NOS item bought by myself as originally it was missing.
