    I went to military surplus store yesterday and took pictures of it. I'm not sure if it is a knock off or actual. Here are pictures.

    yes..they are harder to come by....not the easiest pattern to find....but not near the hardest either...maybe around the middle somewhere...They are not as common as East German rain or US stuff...etc. it is just the fact that you don't see many turn up on the net....I have also heard that they control the stuff...maybe we can ask NorBn....he should know...

    Great find! Very surprising too, since these things are not easy to find M2000 stuff on a regular basis. Occasionally something will appear for a short period of time and then disappear. The one exception has been the m75 field coat (I think it's m75!), which you can still find for sale at various major dealers. For a while the Air Force puzzle pattern was not too difficult to find.

    The two digits in the shield in the upper right side are the date of manufacture. Both of yours are 2000, obviously Wink I'm not sure if any were produced in 1999 or not, so your jackets are either first or second year production. Looks like you have a Large/Regular and Large/Short, by US measurement standards.

    In Germanic languages, generally:

    K = short
    M (or no letter) = regular
    G = long

    Depending on your language of choice, your milage may vary Smile

    Most European countries use metric sizes which can be translated to inches. Generally the tops are measured as Chest from left to right, not all the way around. Trousers are generally 1/2 the waist measurement, but some nations do full waist measurements. It's pretty easy to tell because the 1/2 sizes rarely go over the 50s, and never over the mid 60s. Anything over 60s is automatically an all around measurement. ROUGHLY speaking:

    46 and lower is a Small
    48 is a medium
    52 and up is a large
    56 and up is an X-large
    58 and up is an XX-large
    60+ is so HUGE that the person wearing it probably is a General and you won't see his uniform for sale anyway Wink

    Steve

    Sorry for the late reply, but I just came home from Normandy and the 65th Anniversary for the D-Day landings. Pictured are a couple of M98 uniforms and I believe these were produced from 1998 until the new M04 in rip stop material appeared in 2004. In the beginning a few variations were issued as test uniforms, but the two shown are the ones seen most often. I have seen these in a surplus store for about 55 Euros and that’s both the jacket and trousers. If I remember correct the letters after the size refers to the arm length: N=Normal/ Normal, L=Long/ Lang and K=Short/ Kort. You can see the M98, M04 and the M75 jackets on this page:

    http://www.forsvarsbrukt.no/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=25&cat=JAKKER

    Earlier the M75 was hard to find, but now it has been phased out and is only used by the Home Guard and is easy to find.
    Here is the page with trousers:

    http://www.forsvarsbrukt.no/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=71&cat=BUKSER

    Note the M94 Khaki uniform, this is one of the rarer uniforms used in international operations. Last time it was used was in 1997 and the soldiers returning from international operations had to turn them in for destruction. The M85 uniforms shown has also been used in international operations before the M95 was issued.

    One little correction NORBN on the use of M94 Khaki uniform. As you mention we used it in Sarajevo 1997, but I also got it issued in 1998 when I deployed to Italia with the STO Squadron/338th Squadron. Used it there in 98/99.
    Remember turning the uniform in to the depoet in one of the maintenance hall, sadly I learned they where destroying them. So i went to the back of the line and snatch a set from one of my other squad mates, I still have it with his nametag on. Ofcourse I also have the one I got in 1998.
