Very interesting, indeed! I like that pattern, too.

    Isn't this the hurricano pattern?

I think you are thinking of Hurrikan (Hurricane for us English speakers), which is a green variant of the same pattern. That was experimental and didn't last long. Tamas will correct me, but I think it was 1991-1993?

The brown/orange variety of this pattern has its roots in the shelter quarters issued during, and just before, WW2.

Steve has right, however the "Hurricane" pattern was used a little bit longer. Actually it was issued in 1988 (for peacekeepers operating on the iraqi-iranian border) and used until 2000, when the new 4 colour print pattern tropical uniform was introduced.

Here's a comparison pic to the "Hurricane" uniform:

The reason of the actually pictured "fantasy" suit was that a few years ago surplus M87 AFGC uniforms were sold for cheap money in the Army Clothing Shops and I've bought a few examples of them. As this uniform has many common point with modern-era uniforms (such as zippered front and velcroed pockets) I thought I could create an "ACU-like" hungarian uniform - I added the pockets to the arms of the shirt, a map-pocket to the left chest and the cargo pockets to the trousers.

I would love to find a uniform in this camo; fantasy or real -- I love the pattern! Laughing
