    The diamond patch, I don't think is French. Its a WWII USMC discharge Diamond, pre-1943. There were a few machine embroidered on twill with a merrowed edge, made in WWII, but the more common style (still hard to find), is the white wool diamond sewn to the forest green wool.

    I think the horn is Alpine troops or Chasseur.The dark diamond badges with green edges and numbers are Foreign Legion regimental insignia that when combined with green chevrons are rank and regiment badges for NCOs.The blue chevrons combined with white or silver are Gendarmerie ranking for Caporal Chef(Chief Corporal).
