Standard issue Austrian army (they don't have paras, BTW). I've actually been trying to narrow down the boot types and dates. Seems they wore this style from the early 1960s until at least the mid 1970s.

Cool, thanks Steve,I've had these for years, and in actual fact the surplus store I got then from, had them advertised as Dutch Para Boots, I knew at the time they were not Dutch,my guess was German, Swiss,or Austrian,so it's cool after all these years to have confirmation of their true origin Very Happy

I did not know there were no Austrian Para's,so again that's good,as I've learned something new again, and I had no idea these boots were that old!!!!

Vintage Austrian boots...nice one, thanks again Very Happy

I can confirm that these are Austrian. Prior my time, we had some with a tan leather lining.
We have a para unit but no specific boots for it.

    Philip,

Your Army's para unit is a Special Forces unit only, correct?

    Thanks Philip!

Well, looking at the link you provided it seems that some personnel in 3. Kompanie are responsible for training parachutists. But it does not seem this is an active para unit in and of itself. It also states that the training is for special operations.

So it would appear that my understanding of the BH is correct... there is no airborne unit as such.
