Nice example of a visor fitted MK5 Turtle helmet as used in NI.
The insignia is unknown to me and doesnt look British-any ideas anyone?
This is the 1st model that only used the std chinstrap(of not is the 1st pattern early Tan web chinstrap not the later green type) which as anyone knows wearing a STD Mk5 is a nightmare with it moving around the head so just imagine with the etxtra weight at the front with the visor-A NIGHTMARE.
A second version was then made(also have one of these) which added an extra chinstrap at the rear and used a nylon veclro closed 3 point chinstrap which was much better.
Also of note is that these visors couldnt simply be attached to any helmets like say the GS MK 6 as the fittings are integral to the helmet shell and cannot be removed.
