I'm not to sure if this is the correct position for the gas mask bag, but it looks right!

Very nice! Even though it is very common to find, I really like the P82 webbing. I was lucky enough to get a huge pile of unissued P82 a while back...it has been fun piecing it all together. Nice when it came with the instruction book...lol!

Thanks for looking mate, I did'nt get an instruction book with this cool webbing, but I reckon I could probably work it out, not like Brit 58 Webbing, where it helps to have a degree in Engineering ,just to put it all together

Sorry in my haste to post this webbing, I forgot to ask, what these webbing straps are for, every pouch has them, the butt pack has VERY long straps on the inside, I can't work out for they're for, your help would be very appreciated

Mark, the packs attach with plastic prongs, which clip through brass eylets in the webbing belt, which is then further attached with velcro.I have this pic if it helps, or I could take a close up shot

I reckon your right, some of the plastic prongs are already broken off, but once in place they are very secure

The straps inside the mag pouches are for quickly pulling the mags out when reloading. The mags are rather snug inside the pouch. When you open the pouch you then pull up the strap and it brings the mag up high enough to get a good grip on it. Comes in very handy when you have thick gloves on in the arctic.
The butt pack has a long strap inside so that it can be slung over the shoulder seperate fom the webbing. If you look at the outside of the butt pack there is a buckle on the one side of it. The strap is looped through that buckle so it can be slung.

And I echo Mark's sentiment about being addicted to webbing. I bought a half-complete set of South African Pattern 70 webbing at a rock-bottom price, and now a month and some dollars later, I've got a complete set, minus the canteen and ground cover, which I am now actively tracking down. On the up side, it is very well-made kit.
