85 Pattern Combat jacket.

Hi Guys.

Another fine example of British Combat Jackets this one is a 85 Pattern.

More pockets in and out than you can shake a stick at. And the added bonus over the 68 Pattern in that is has ...velcro wrist adjusters...wow

Anyway enough of that..enjoy

And finally the DPM pattern

85 pattern smock's/ jackets have a Field dressing pocket on the right sleeve.

The 85 pattern was the worst design of all UK combat clothes since WW2. Cloth was thin, sewing standards were bad. Bulgy pockets looked awful and the DPM print shades were poor. You can tell I am not a fan.

Fair comment Mate, and your not the only one ,who has stated the above faults, these era jackets are infamous for their poor design.

But from a collectors point of view,it's good to have one nevertheless,and if nothing else it will always be a talking point,in the world of DPM

I am on a mission to have every jacket from 68-2000, I just need to add the 2000 version and I'm there !!!

And I could'nt agree more about the DPM fetish..someone would be not in their right mind ,not to get a kick out DPM

Same here with Indonesian DPM, although I think your task is slightly larger and more varied.

That's what I get a kick out of,there's so much variety with Brit DPM,2000 are readily available ,I'm just waiting for the price to come down..so far I've only about £5.00 for each Jacket,apart from the 68, so I don't want to pay much for the latest kit

I would like to get around to collecting Indonesian and other Asian DPM varients someday,but it is'nt available in my neck of the woods
