    OD Smocks-sizes? Empty OD Smocks-sizes?

Post by Philip Thu Mar 24, 2011 1:37 pm

I have a current DDPM smock but they are very long. I'm 183 and 180 is way too long for me. Are the older cut OD smocks as long as the current ones or should I take 170?
    thanks

    speaking of these:

I think that the sizing is (ideally) supposed to fit anyone with a height that's within 10 cms: i.e. 180 is "supposed" to fit individuals between 175 and 185 cms, 180 being a middle point of reference. I think they're off, though, because I'm on the up-side of 175cms, but a 180-sized jacket is too long for me, especially in the sleeves. After that, I bought a 170-sized and it fit better length-wise.

For me, the ideal fit is to have the bottom of the smock at or just slightly below the tips of my fingers when my arms are at my sides.

I have yet to completely understand British sizing, especially some of the older gear... an old 180/104 shirt fits like a newer-issue 170/96 one; I don't get it. scratch

British sizing is very odd to be fair that's for sure, I'm 175 ,but I find a 160 is better,or the arms are too long..mind you saying that I have a Desert 160 and the arms are too short!!

The best way is to try it on, but when your buying on-line that's not ideal!

Windproof smocks are designed to be long, and if they are a bit too long, pull the elasticated draw string in and tuck it up inside it's self that 's what the vast majority of sqauddies do anyway, or the lucky one's who just happen to fit the smock perfectly Laughing

Yeah, but not a challenger Tank, as the elatic pull cord on the bottom of the smock, would'nt have enough "give" in it, but maybe at a push a Landie Laughing
