    New Zealand issue JG 1950's - Vietnam - 70's/80's

Some NZ Jungle green from the 1950's to the early 80's when NZ DPM came into service around 1983ish

JG was introduced in 1958 with NZ's focus changing from the Middle East to SE Asia replacing the wartime Khaki.

1969 dated NZ made JG of Vietnam period usually having brown buttons, once these rotted off you, Australian made uniforms replaced them in country.

1974 dated shirt & 1979 dated trou, the only difference is the green buttons from Vietnam period ones note the use of buckles still used on the trou nice for a quick stand too.

Great uniforms!! I love all the old school pre camo kakhi and greens. I like those 69 dated trousers, they look like a cross between the Aussie pixie type trousers and crossovers, Cant say Ive ever seen a pair of them before, thanks for sharing mate Wink

mad set there bro, do you have any bush hats? ive heard that the kiwis had their own type of hat- the aussies had a steeper brim in theirs, the brits had large vent holes, and the kiwis hat a more developed crown and buttons on the brim to fold the brim up e.g in the cowboy hat position.

Kiwis also used the pixies in theater- ANZACs commonly shared their gear

    Thanks guys,

NZ made J hats had a bigger crown which you "tucked in" and threaded a boot lace through the two vent holes for your chin strap, press studs came with j hats right up untill the mid 90's.

Australian & NZ soldiers seem to have a deep sense of pride for their J hats.
