This is an odd ACU that I picked up at our local surplus shop. It is a US Army ACU pattern combat jacket. What is so odd about this piece is that it has an ACU camo pattern US Navy tape. Come to find out that during Operation Iraqi Freedom, the US Navy had sailors attached to Army units in the field. Mainly for communications type jobs. Just thought it was odd enough to show you all.

Air Force personnel assigned to combat units (JTAC/FAC) wear ACU or MARPAT, depending on which force they are attached to. The last thing someone wants to do in a combat situation is look special, or worse... special with a radio antenna Very Happy

    Hi all,

I was in Virginia Beach a few years back.

Was hanging around in the vicinity of Little Creek, and Dam Neck.

I did see quite a few sailors wearing ACUs walking about.

Have been back a few time since, but have not seen that again.

Ran across ACU with USMC markings, as well as the Marine's personal data inscribed in the jacket not long ago.

Everyone except Marines can wear that if attached to Army units. USMC is exclusive MARPAT.
