Re: 60's Jungle Hat and Overall jacket.
Don't know how I missed this one, Gary. Cool stuff! Nothing beats classic olive green. I really like the jacket.
There were a bunch of these type jungle hats at a surplus place I visited last year -- they were all in tiny sizes. I often wonder where the human-sized ones got to!

Re: 60's Jungle Hat and Overall jacket.
Yep,over the years ive had a few of these hats(and the desert tan ones) but 99% in tiny sizes. Am lucky now to have 1 of each in wearable sizes
I guess these Denims were meant as work gear to replace the WW2 type Denim BD Blouse+Trs but believe the trs were loved and used as Combat trs by some squaddies?

No worries, just wish i could find the other pairs to compare.
Weird that there was no standardised way of labelling these things as your Jkt is dated but my Trs arent??

Re: 60's Jungle Hat and Overall jacket.
Just found another pair, label faded and check out the killer seams sewn into these
As they were work/utility trs somebody went to a bit of trouble getting these looking smart.

Re: 60's Jungle Hat and Overall jacket.
Very cool Rich,I've seen many, many lightweights with seams sewn in,never these type stands.
Not sure why a REME type would want his work trousers with a "sharp crease" in them, but this just adds more interest to these period trews me thinks

Re: 60's Jungle Hat and Overall jacket.
Cheers Gary, mine looks unissued and as always the British Army Sizing system makes no sense as it fits me ok and im 5 foot 10 with a 39 chest.
Strange item of clothing really.

No Worries Mate, the old style of sizing is very odd I must agree...

Great video,1987 Royal Marine Comando officers course with the candidates wearing the overall jacket.
Some may as well be wearing the trs but from what i could see they were wearing lightweights.

Re: 60's Jungle Hat and Overall jacket.
Reason i say they were wearing lightweights is that the trs all have the leg pocket which the overall trs dont-or so i thought.
Over on another forum a member has posted a pic of a pair of overall trs that DO have the leg pocket
So now thats another damn item i need to find for the collection!!!

Re: 60's Jungle Hat and Overall jacket.
I had one of those jackets when I did the All Arms Commando Course, they were worn over an issued blue or green Rugby shirt with white collar
