    Hi Philip,
I got some similar to yours off a Ukrainian seller who runs Front of Russia. Aleksey Babushkin is his name. He has sent me Ukrainian camouflage before but once he sent the wrong pants and they did not have any stamps or paper tags in side. He corrected the problem and sent me the ones with proper markings. I believe the unmarked Ukrainian pants were commercially mfg somewhere else. As I have seen this in the Russian Flora pattern too.

Beware... there are a LOT of commercial bits of Ukrainian stuff out there. From a dark, blurry small resolution picture like that you're not going to be able to tell the difference.

Note that I got a set of these awhile ago without stamps and I don't see much, if any, difference with the ones with stamps. I think it's likely that the factory just cranked out some extras for hard cash (this was during the 1990s when the economy was really bad). But I have also seen obvious low quality stuff that certainly isn't the same as military issue. Not in this particular pattern, though.

    You can show pictures?
As far as I know, all army uniforms come with the stamps. Labels and tags shows commercial products.

Cap badge is wrong one. The badge shown is worn only with winter headgear. Camo itself is OK, even showing name and number of soldier who was wearing it (Шевяков 408719)

And I have to add that this is old type camo, nowadays we use ripstop pattern mostly.

Well, these two are slightly different nowadays.
But I would say that we use Dubok!

These look like uniforms for a private security company. First uniform is military issue and this one (with the sewn-in tag) is of commercial manufacture.

Ukrainian camouflage Empty Ukrainian Winter Camo Uniform

Post by escammo Sun Dec 18, 2011 5:58 pm

Here is a Winter Camo Uniform manufactured by the Ukrainian company Siveryanka in 1997.

This uniform is very high quality and has a sewn-in, non-detachable liner. The high quality fake fur collar is also sewn to the jacket and is non-detachable.

The old Soviet winter style uniforms – with button-in liners – were very heavy and restricted movement. This uniform is a better design because the sewn-in lining keeps you warm and does not restrict movement.

Erick is absolutely correct. The first set of uniforms is military clothing. Second - civilian uniform in military style. I might add that the first set is well stitched, and has a very high quality fabric (note the stamp - the type of fabric "A-3 '). The second set - just a working suit and bad material quality.

About the winter set showed by Erick, I agree with the fact that it is more convenient to the Soviet. But at the same time, it is cheaper and easier to manufacture! That’s why these jackets are used for so long. Just recently became widely introduce a new winter jacket pattern. And by the way, it has a removable lining and is as heavy as the Soviet one. The Soviet model is better! Cool

You're absolutely right about military and commercial issues.

Funny that these uniforms have patches of "Gun" (Пушка) Security firm providing services for the Kramatorsk Cement and Slate Factory (Краматорський цементно-шиферний комбінат). Very Happy
For you to understand such "private security companies" - normally they are the bunch of oldmen, sometimes retired military or police personnel, wearing camo with old civilian shoes, pretending that their presence could prevent any crime or misconduct Laughing

I wouldn't say that this wintercoat (so called "бушлат" BUSHLAT) is new, I would call it a current one. First time it was provided to the Armed Forces in 1994.

My own impression - not so bad, good for winter and low temperatures, not so bad for raining and wet conditions, BUT - quite bulky and heavy.
Wearing it with full combat load and accessories make you almost impossible to move.

That is my opinion of most Soviet influenced winter clothing. If you want to stay warm while walking around, any of these jackets are very good IMHO. But the minute you start moving around with a purpose... ugh! And the thought of wearing these with field equipment, ammo, food, etc... ugh-ugh! The jackets are very heavy all on their own.

I've acquired a very early Ukrainian uniform in TTsKO (left), compared to a 1st pattern 1985-dated Soviet example on the right:

    Ukrainian camouflage Koa1

The date stamp is not very clear but it is either 92 or 93.

Notice how the Soviets used a slightly different technique for printing their camouflage, resulting in more "bleed" into the other shapes. Both uniforms are 100% cotton.

Missed the digital pic until now. Nice.

Here's a comparison of various used jackets from the 1990s and early 2000s. Seems the older ones faded a lot when exposed to the sun. Parts of the uniform that are shaded, such as under the collar and inside pockets, are much darker.

    Ukrainian camouflage File-134

    Ukrainian camouflage File-138

The poor quality of the printing explains the great variety of uniform colors I've seen in pictures from the 1990s. I thought there were brown variants, but they are just washed/sun damaged green ones!

    Hello!

In my opinion the previous pictures of jacket is not military, but it features military plastic buttons.
The absence of proper stamps is the evidence.

I saw a lot of similar cheap commercial staff for workers and private guards, made of commercial fabrics...
