It's now down to 5 patterns:

Army uniform officials have tapped five finalists to develop the service’s new family of camouflage patterns.
The Jan. 10 announcement is the result of the Army’s exhaustive Phase IV Camouflage effort. The five vendors have been awarded contracts to make camouflage-patterned material for uniforms and equipment that will be field-tested later this year, uniform officials say.

The Kryptek pattern is pictured on Soldier Systems... it's a funky looking pattern; but I like it. It will be interesting to see what other patterns are submitted.

Acu is ugly uniform and should be replaced.the kryptek pattern looks like Snake/crocodile skin!Looks cool!

Multicam was temporary from the beginning ,They made that very clear , they were basically suppressing a revolt by their own troops against UCP LOL , we shall see if the nepotism in our government is still in control , I hope your right Steve , Natick has not produced anything good since DCU .

The whole idea of a universal pattern is ridiculous in my opinion. A universal pattern will only be possible once they create a device that renders the person invisible or changes to match the surrounding light to blend in. The army should take a lesson from the Marine Corps book and make two, woodland and desert.

Yeah, I'm hoping this time around Natick and the lackeys who signed off on UCP will be more attentive to the real needs of our soldiers instead of bureaucratic games. Certainly Natick would have a lot of explaining to do in a few years if they picked another FUBAR pattern.

All kinds of stuff like this in the works. From what I've seen, none of it is viable with current technology. Either because it doesn't actually work, can't be scaled up, can't be scaled down, cost, or all of these factors.
