Choc Chip Boonie Hat-How do i date it??

Had this for a few years but only just dug it out again.

Doesnt seem to have a DLA on the label so cannot date it-any ideas please?

Yep.
Actualy that is the contrakt date. Exact production date could be 1 or 2 yrs later depending on the term of the contrakt.

DPSC is different. They always use this short contract no.

There's always been a duplicative system for procurement. There's the standard method (which has a 3 or 4 digit prefix, changed over time), and then there's this way. I don't know exactly what the technical paper-pushing difference is, but as I understand it the latter method is a direct purchase by the agency responsible for clothing soldiers. That name has changed over time too.

If I'm wrong, someone please correct me because this has always confused me a little!

Not rare but not easy to get either. Big sizes are not so common anymore.

All DPSC stuff is stamped the way this hat is, don't know why but it's the only stuff that is.
