It's genuine. There's no fakes like this on the market because there are a LOT of these shirts. At one point I bought 4 for $15, but now that's a decent price for a single shirt. The problem is most are very small sizes. Children sizes in the US. There is usually a few up on eBay at any given point in time.

Portuguese military are somewhat retracted when labeling is concerned specially in items pre-2000 so it would only have a neck tag saying OGFE and a number when 0 is the biggest size (Euro XL)

Forgot to say one thing: there are some shirts similar to that one but of commercial source that are sold in hunting shops here in the country. The cloth is the same, the cut is the same, only diferences are no OGFE tag but a white tag with civilian number. The reason for that is because when army stoped using camo uni's in mid/late 80's, manufacturers had to get rid of excess material and turned to civilian use. Appart of that they are the same.

    Best regards

Hi Guys, some very interesting information here,so here's my example , there is no OGFE tags.Just a VERY faint made in Portugal stamp and 100% coton, and a number 3 sticker on the inside collar, so my guess on this one, is that it is one of the commercial items mentioned by koalorka and Albano. BTW - This one was described by the seller as a "Genuine Portuguese shirt" Suspect

    Cheers Gary.

Could not be a fake Gary. Only OGFE make/made items numbered from 1(XL) to 4(S). The commercial ones have S to XL.
I already catched shirts like that without no OGFE tag but in OD. Could have come from one of the private contracts from the 80's before camo was fased out.

    Best regards

Thanks Albano, so it might be genuine after all ?, that's quite reassuring, not because it was expensive you understand, it's just that I HATE to be ripped off by sellers who should know better, I will not look down on this one now, and show it the respect it deserves!!

The reason for buying it is that the camo-pattern is superb in my opinion, I do wonder how these would have looked when the print faded?

Thanks again for your excellent knowledge on these things Wink
