    Hi Guys.

There's nothing particularly special about this Jacket, I just felt the label nomenclature was interesting Smile

Laughing No not makee in China !!!

This is an official issue jacket, one of the last camo jackets prior to S95 type MTP being introduced.

I have a last issue "DPM" Wind-proof, which also say's on the label Woodland, but no mention of the Disruptively Patterned thingymabob.

Thanks for looking and for cheering me up Laughing

Interesting indeed ... I can almost picture the scenario at a pub, one camo collector turns to the other and says, "Oi, did you know the Brits were issued Woodlands? "Get orrrf! A pint says that's codswallop!" First bloke turns his collar inside out ..."I'll 'ave a dark ale thanks, mate"

Laughing Yeah good scenario there Mate.

The Jacket it's self is pretty banal, but I thought the label might be of interest here , I'm not sure why the nomenclature was changed at all, certainly could be a good start to a healthy debate on what constitutes DPM in the future;)

Holy crap! There's so many rumor/fake stories about stuff like this, but finally one that's true!

There was at least one guy who fell for a scam (WW2 US AFVs), flew down to some South American country with a bundle of money... and that was the last heard of him. Back when I was in the military vehicle collecting sphere, there were all kinds of horror stories like this. I myself was involved in one for a BMP-3. I didn't wind up losing any money on it, but the guy who was brokering the deal did. And his middle man was deported to Russia because of it.

So yeah, it's really fun to see one of these things turn out to be true and be headed for a happy ending!

It's not pre-s95 mate, they had regular buttons not the slot ones. I'd put this garment period after the s95 ripstop and before the issue of hooded smocks, almost the final issue before they went hooded.

    Lads. It is original DPM.

Pattern 2000 and others after 95 patterns is called WOODLAND DP

check your labels (on trousers, jackets and smocks).

I think the introduction of the desert DPM resulted in a change
    From Smock DPM ect to
Smock woodland DP ect and Smock desert DP ect to make the jam stealers in the stores lives easier

Yes, I should have said S2000 not S95, ripstop was S95, then the M0D went back to err non-ripstop..dunno why, good point made Mate Wink

I also have a Woodland DP Jacket, but I have the Smock and its new.
And my Smock also has Velcro on the upper arms like the UBACS.
It's sewed with the same thread as the other parts stitched together, is this current?

Hmmm, so when did the MoD move away from the "DP" description to "Disruptively Patterned", I'm still confused scratch

Ripstop has no mention of DP.
