    shoulder board insignia identification

    hi folks i was wondering if anybody could help me id these insignia sleeves ,i found them in a bundeswehr parka thanks james

    Luftwaffe Obeserstleutnant (Lt. Colonel). Could be from any time in the 1970s through present. At least I think the wings appeared on shoulder rank starting in the 1970s.

    brilliant steve many thanks for the quick responce and in identifying them for me i am truly gratefull ,do you think they would of belonged to the flecktarn parka i found them in ,thanks again james

    Official rank on Flecktarn is as above. There's a black version for combat use, though the white type is used pretty much as standard. Private purchase rank on Flecktarn cloth started showing up in the mid 1990s. I'm not sure it's official now or not, but it's certainly common.
