I have had the British Desert DPM Shirt since 1991, does anyone have any background information on this garment? Thank you.

Ah, it's the rare 4-colour desert DPM blouse - if I recall correctly, these were very limited issue as the pattern was sold off to Iraq prior to Desert Storm and the British came up with the original "sparse" desert DPM to replace it. It was the first desert-type pattern developed by the British, I believe in the mid-to-late 80's.

Thank you. This garment came to me as an item from the Iraqi Army, is this possible given the English tag?

It's possible, I've read around that there's at least some British tagged ones. There's also some Saudi version floating around, I believe (with an Arabic tag)?

The first desert pattern produced by the UK was a four-color desert colorway of the standard temperate DPM pattern. British troops never deployed using this pattern, although British MOD-tagged uniforms were found among Iraqis during the First Gulf War.

Yep, the infamous British 4 colour Desert DPM sold to Iraq!!!

Highly desirable and sought after garment Ed, there are a number of these examples shown within the Brit section, and I believe from memory in the Iraq section too.

Great score, and in superb unissued condition too!

British Desert DPM Uniform Empty Good to Know

Thank you for the information. It cost very little in 1991 when I purchased it in a Canadian surplus store, at that time it was advertised as having come from Iraq.
