Unknown OG Shirt!!

Hi Guys, I would appreciate your input on helping me identify this Shirt. I got it from a Surplus store, it appears to be made of thick OG material, the buttons are brown plastic, and the cuffs had the loops around the bottom, other than that it has no labels or other features, I'm hoping someone will recognise it.

Not Aussie that's for sure. The cuff fastener tab and the buttons sorta says this might be 1950/60's Belgian to me.

Many thanks for looking filupe, I was also thinking Belgium or maybe even Dutch, but as this has no labels, I'm pretty much clueless, I only paid £2.50 but would love a positive ID all the same, thanks again Mate

I like it, is it a wearable size ? Are you keeping it ??

I'm also thinking Belgian. I don't know much about Belgian OD uniforms (standard issue for about 2-3 decades), but the features are very consistent with Belgian uniforms of the 1950s-1960s.

Lee, it's probably the equivalent of a UK M/L, so yeah definitely wearable,the down side it has holes going from the front to the rear which let's it down a bit.

And I probably will keep it for the meantime, as it's really sturdy piece of kit.

Excellent many thanks for your opinion Steve,it's shame the labels are long gone.

I do not believe there are examples like this one in the Belgium section, so I will try the old search the web technique, wish me luck!!

That's a very different cut from the OD vest I have (D'hondt 1969). But I'm far to know everything about belgian uniforms

without any doubt that shirt is from Argentina army.
older model seventies.
used in warm weather with the sleeves rolled up.
cold weather layering coat.
maybe South Atlantic souvenir 1982?

Thanks for clearing that up Juan. Is there a lot of surplus militaria in Argentina? That certainly ups the value of Gary's acquisition .. nice score, mate!

Interesting information, Juan! Do you know where the Argentine uniforms were manufactured? As I stated further up, the features are very similar to Belgian. Especially the small "dish" style buttons. Also, the patten is similar to Yugoslav style. Sometimes similarities are coincidence, sometimes not.

Here in Argentina's Military Surplus is unfortunately limited and expensive.
Uniforms are locally produced. Generally influenced in American uniforms. but with many variations depending on the time, Israel, France, cloth Chinese, English dpm variations, ... and even at some point will use the rain drop exedentes of East Germany.

Many ,many thanks,teysseire for identifying this OD shirt for me,being Argentinian makes this shirt even more collectable now, I will not be getting rid of this one now!!!!!!

The surplus store I got it from, also had a LOT of British Falklands era surplus, so maybe this was a bring back, in amongst all the Brit stuff.


It goes without saying I am very pleased with the outcome of this identification assistance, I can add this one to to the rest of my all be it, small Argentinian collection.

Just out of interest what would be the financial value of this shirt, I totally understand the historical value of course
