Help me find a British Army Issue Combat Cap

Hi Folks, can anyone please point me in the direction of anybody who maybe able to supply me one of the Korean war issue combat caps. My dad is a Korean vet and would dearly love one and he is 80 next month and I have looked but to no avail. I have the gauntlets white and green which he would have worn bur can't get this cap. Any ideas please.

Not much help but a good few months ago there was a UK Ebay seller who had a few of these listed and as the price was a bit stupid they were constantly re listed for a while but seems to have stopped now.

Keep an eye out on there incase they pop up again and if I see them or any others will let you know.

Are you looking for the "Hat, Horrible"?

Why don't you go for the short-brimmed "Bush cap" also worn in Korea, though better known today for the Malaysia Affair. Plenty of those on epay currently, and not too expensive.

What regiment did your father serve in?

I think what you need is often referred to as a "Ridgeway" cap. Part of the M1951 uniform overhaul:

Do a search on eBay or the Net to find them. If you don't care about it being genuine, there are reproductions out there. Here's one I found that has them in any size and several different colors:

I suppose you could go for a US Pile cap? These were used by most UK soldiers (and everyone else) between 1950 and 1952 at least.
