This is a very nice jacket, Gilles! It reminds me a little of the old Rhodesian pattern.

Here's a Transkei jacket I picked up at a surplus/flea market/junk shop recently. It caught my eye amidst heaps of DPM and flecktarn.

Should one assume that Transkei obtained from Trident is spurious? Mine looks real, but has no markings... I don't suppose it matters *too* much, as I wear them-- but I am guessing that the real gems are marked, such as yours are.

I really dunno, I have heard of Trident obviously, but not anything bad, but then I tend to shop mainly from ebay and my local surplus shop!!

As far as I can tell the items Trident sells are genuine. I have a few Transkei items from several different sources, most are marked, some are not. I have a few from Trident that are marked. As far as anyone can tell no one has faked the homelands uniforms. Some of the extra fabric was made into odd items at the end of the homelands (I've seen a Bop. police grasslands camo hunting vest/jacket). The homelands camo items were made by many different comercial companies and very few companies that had military contracts so they have varying standards of construction/lables/etc....
