I found a bus ticket in one of the chest pockets which dated 1991, I suspect this hasn't been used since as the ticket was white and crisp. There is very very little fade to the print , the inside of the pockets are about the same shade as the rest of the jacket.

Nice indeed. Do the press studs show evidence of once having OD enamel on them?

Non at all, the underside on the snap on the pockets body are tarnished silver, zipp is blackened brass mainly all intact. The pull cords inside and on the bottom of the jacket have grenade style ringed pull cords.

I would say it appears either paint wasn't applied or someone took it off as it shows no sign of wearing off , snaps have no wear like scratching or scuffing. On the British para smocks I have you find if brass snaps are worn there are evidence somewhere of paint but non at all on this.

Wonder if someone took the paint off for parade bling bling as this jacket has no wear at all, it's not unissued but very gentle used , don't even looked like its been washed.

There should be paint on the snap heads, however Gilles is the expert on possible exceptions.

There are *TONS* of copies of this jacket, however they are usually easy to spot. From your two pictures this looks legitimate. However, I am wondering if this might be Moroccan and not French. Construction and materials are nearly identical, but the snap heads are not painted. Are there any metal grommet (air vents) in the armpit area? Where is the bus ticket from? If it's French, then it was being worn by someone for fun around that time. If the jacket is Moroccan, then it could have been from the soldier wearing it since these uniforms were in service in 1991.

Hi, the bus ticket was British and valued at 60p adult fair, can tell that's old as it would be about five quid now !!

    Material is HBT

Grommets/eyelets under armpits As I recall , I opened parcel took the photos and popped it in the wardrobe.

There are no tell tail signs of use in anywhere with strong sun as its not been bleached.

The para snaps are brass and don't look all that used. I will post better photos of the snaps both inside and out.

Great detailed pics! None of them are consistent with my two 20+ year old Moroccan uniforms so I'm guessing it is not Moroccan. Gilles will hopefully have some more thoughts. I've personally never seen a 47/56 with brass snaps, but I've only had a half dozen in my hands compared to what Gilles has seen.
