Anyone here know what utilities the USCG are using abord ship ? I've been trying to get a set of their blue, ripstop BDU's in a large reg or large short but they never seem to come up on ebay. I gather they also use coveralls. Are they nomex ?

There seems to be a real lack of resource material on them and yet they are a very active arm. Or maybe that's because I am a long way from where they operate !

And if anyone local to a USCG base knows of a surplus shop selling BDU's, please PM me.

    Cheers,
    Dave

If you Want Operational Dress Uniforms (One with the USCG logo on the pockets), Don't expect any to go into surplus, since USCG is like a Police Force and they treat the equipment and gear that way nowadays, ODU's have a Turn back in Policy for every pair your issued, like US Federal Police/Security Uniforms, but I'm sure the Quartermasters slip up from time to time and allow some off.

Me being from San Diego, this place is a pretty Big U.S Navy/Marines/Coast Guard billet, but the USCG is so small a service I hardly ever find a Coastie walking around the Navy/Marine Base, but they do from time to time, since it's the only place they have.

They're made by the same people who are contracted for the Dept of the Navy, so you'll find the usual choices from Federal Prison Industries and so on and so fourth.
