Genuine and apparently -very rare - sterile 1st pattern F-S dagger. Came with a lapel badge of the FFL Cross Of Lorraine. Apparently from a former SOE agent ....

I've handled and owned a few 2nd and 3rd pattern daggers but they didn't do much for me. This thing feels unbelievable in the hand. It'll make a great letter opener Very Happy

I love these FS Knives I have never had the good fortune to handel the early patterns but I bought a 3rd pattern when I joined the army I think it is in my mums loft some where, I took it on a survival course and found it as much use as a choclate fire guard as a survival knife, as it is intended for one purpose sticking between the ribs of an unsuspecting sentry, a task I thankfully never had to carry out.
Im quite jelous and I have to agree with you Dave we share impecable taste.

Cool pointy thing Dave, I know diddly about these things other than the obvious, but I would be most chuffed with this one in my own personal collection.

I specifically like the SOE aspect, as I've been reading up on these brave/crazy individuals recently, so that got my interest too!

    Thanks guys Smile

You are quite right Graham, they are only good for 3 things:

1 is to look at and admire
2 is to despatch an enemy
3 is to stab olives. Keeps others out of the way ! Smile

There really is no comparison between these 1st patterns and subsequent versions.

Owen, please tell me you didn't lose a 1st pattern in the woods ? Crying or Very sad
