Urban BDU , I always thought made for surplus stores ?

Post by bravo_2_zero on Sat Dec 15, 2012 9:15 am

I'm a sucker for urban camo more so when I see a pair like this which are more like snow camo with the amount of white found on them. So I spy this pair on eBay and get then for nothing and think hey cool beaters for shopping in. The pants turn up I wear them and take them off to launder and I noticed the tags, genuine US issue DLA.
Now I've had 30 plus sets of urban BDU mostly by Propper and the tags all state PIO xxxxx xxxxx xxxx and the battle tested logo where the issue info should be. These feature relivent spec tags that would be seen in issue stock.

Now weather it's a manufacturing fault that issue tags were placed on surplus items or genuine issue ( guessing MOUT , not actual combat ) who knows ?

Never seen 60/40 fabric on a US issue BDU, green label, it says just trousers, combat, nothing else,...

The amount of white on Genuine Specification BDUs was increased, so it does look a lot more like a snow camouflage pattern now. The white and pale grey have been transposed to make more white. The white is where the green would be on U.S. Woodland camouflage.
