    Hi Guys I recently got this bag and was wondering does anyone have a clue what this might be? I got it from a antique mall and the dealer said it was ww2. I am eithe guessing ww2 or post all opinioins wanted on this

    Andrew I don't agree with that at all. Its way to big to be a briefcase. I am thinking a dr.s medical bag or something

    How large is it? I don't think you ever gave us the dimensions. From my point of view looks like a normal everyday bag.

    Mr. B,

    11th Airborne Division was active from 1943 to 1958. It was re-activated as an Air Assault unit (with Air Assault tab replacing the previous Airborne tab) in 1963, but only remained in existence under this designation for another two years. In 1965, all personnel were transferred under the command of the 1st Cavalry Division. So, your case could either be WW2 or 1950s issue. Most WW2 era items were marked and dated, whereas a lot of 1950s era uniforms and equipment are not. Either way, it is a nice piece of history from the unit.
