Post by Gulf91 on Tue Jan 08, 2013 4:13 pm

    Sorry,yet another BGS patch question.

Any ideas please as to if these are originals or copies and also what type item of clothing both would have been used on?

    Many Thanks

    Originals, definitely.

It's a little difficult to say what the arc goes to because the BGS used many different sizes, curves, and border thicknesses over the years for various garments. Best guess is it was used for field jackets of various types, either camo or post 1976 through 2006 (IIRC that's when they converted to Bundespolizei).

The eagle badge is easier. Depending on it's size it was either used on the service jacket or great coat.

One thing the BGS was quite consistent about is bevo arc goes with bevo eagle, felt arc goes with felt eagle. There's also silver and gold hand stitched versions and, likewise, they are always matched.

Real. The green border came about... hmm... early 2000s? I can't remember when, exactly. I don't think it was used much. This would likely have been off a shirt.

    Good and bad news Sad

Good that its original but bad as it came with a camo jacket as a replacement for a missing patch!!!

Bummer. Yeah, that's too new for camo jackets.
