Just wondering how to tell a Vietnam issue jungle boots from more modern ones , I have a pair and the stamp is to hard to make out , any other way to tell date ?

How to date Jungle boots ?

The easiest way to find if they are Vietnam period is to look at the heels-99.9% of Vietnam period boots have an approx 1 inch row of vertical stitching to each heel.
I say 99.9% of the boots as have found 1 maker who didnt have that feature and spent quite a lot of amusing time listening to an "expert" rant and rave that they were Post Vietnam issue boots as ALL Vietnam period boots had the stitching to the heel

Thanks for the reply , I guess they are later issue , no stitching . I guess I'll have to start wearing them ! Oh just sell them off . Thanks again .

another way is the type of soles or tread pattern
if they are GI issue with the early style vibram sole you know they are Vietnam era, they stopped making those around 1967

Yes and no but be carefull as there are repro Vibram soled boots out there.

I have tried a several times to post photo's , but it won't work, even down loaded something but still no luck . I'm using an Apple if that makes any difference . I'm getting pretty feed up . Is there any other Camo sites where photo posting is easier ?

Download photobucket which is free from App Store
Upload your pictures to it and do this
