Nice early example! I've got an early 1980s one that has different buttons (solid brown plastic, not the "translucent" style of yours) and a different colored liner (green instead of tan).

Nice indeed! Funny enough, early this morning I was handling mine and thinking "this is too nice to sell!". It's 1979 and has a brown liner and standard brown dish buttons.

Hey all,
I know I have one of these jackets somewhere in my mountain of SA stuff albeit without the winter liner.
Steve , what are you thinking ? It is a very cool jacket that you will miss, if you decide to sell it..

Nice find.
They becoming very scarce now.
I have a later model, brand new with green liner and camo buttons.
Where did you find it?

Funny where things end up, this could of been used by a SAP Officer patrolling along the South African Border or quelling domestic unrest during apartheid only to end up in a thrifty/surplus store in New York city.
Thanks for sharing!
