No idea whats going on with the trs,all the mods are hand sewn and could possibly be newly done(who on earth somebody would want to trash a pair of original trs is anybodys guess)

Thanks Gary, seen the zip conversion of the tops by British SAS in the 60s/70s but the trs are just bizarre.

    British WWII Windproof

Post by ripcord on Tue Apr 02, 2013 1:39 pm

    Hi all,

Have posted photos of this windproof before.

It apparently has been modified with a US zipper.

    rip...

    Windproof

Post by ripcord on Tue Apr 02, 2013 1:59 pm

    Hey Gulf91

Have no idea how the US zipper ended up on this windproof.

I acquired it in the early 80s. It came to me from Spain, of all places, as is.

The strange thing is that it appears to be in unissued condition, as do the trousers that came with it.

Crazy that it was modified, but never used ( but I am not complaining ).

    rip...

    Camouflaged Trousers

Post by edstorey on Tue Apr 02, 2013 10:16 pm

Are you sure the Trousers are modified fropm the Windproofs? There was a set of British camouflaged clothing from 1945 that looked like BD but was manufactured from the same material as the Windproofs. I am speculating that you may have the Trousers to this set.

Hello Ed,I wouldnt think so as the work has been done somewhat crudely by hand.
