Portuguese Air Force Arid DPM, these uniforms belong to a batch made by Lousafil company and have some differences from the Portuguese Marines version.

The fabric has higher cotton content (85% cotton 15% polyester instead of 80% cotton 20% polyester), the ripstop net its white instead dark, the base color its slightly lighter and the dark color its slightly darker. The buttons are translucent and have a different shape than the Marines model and the zipper are black instead of bronze.

Portuguese nº3 Working Uniform jacket, this was used a lot of times as a combat jacket since the lizard uniforms were only used by few elite units in the 80s and 90s.

Portuguese nº3 working trousers used during recruit and maneuvers (served as combat uniform for most units previously to the general adoption of DPM in 2003).

Got this mint Portuguese Marines balaclava, this one was issued with the lizard uniform that was used until recent times. Also got this face veil from the same source, also issued with the old lizard uniform.

This is a CTAT 2000 combat jacket, the pattern was established in 2000 (but modified ones were fielded before) for use by the Portuguese paratroopers. CTAT means Comando de Tropas Aerotransportadas which translates to Aero-transported Troops Command. The main dfference from the earlier models were the lack of waist pockets.

This is a Portuguese Army batch NATO 2003 combat uniform, probably made by a private contractor since the tags do not mention OGFE but only the contract references like the tags of the Portuguese Marines contract uniforms.

Another difference its the flag that its printed in a synthetic piece of cloth sewed to the arm instead of the embroidered patch one.

Portuguese Army OGFE made Desert Uniform used in Afghanistan. The general construction follows the NATO 2003 model, the difference its only in colors. This model is the one mainly used by Portuguese Comandos deployed in Afghanistan.

This is such a great reference thread Smile

Question! I have a Portuguese Army DPM Dólman 1990s type uniform (with snaps), but the tags do not have much information on them. Did "Algodão" make official uniforms? That's what both jacket and trousers have on their labels.

    Greetings,

"Algodão" means "cotton", its just the material. Private shops still sell the 90's model to booth soldiers ans civilians, these uniforms usually just have "Algodão" and "Made in Portugal" on their tags. Usually these sets are made to military standards and quality its very high.
