What the ????

Have no idea what this is.

Obviously the patches are not correct. They have been removed long ago.

Anyone have any ideas ??? Portuguesish ??

The insignia could possibly be Spanish??

Yup, patches are definitely Spanish, but the garment certainly is not.

There are no tags, or markings.

The pattern looks similar to Portuguese, but I do not think it is.

I have had this a looong time, and have never been able to figure out what it is ... 

My guess is a Portuguese work shirt. Simple chest pockets and open lower pockets is quite a common work shirt design. Or it could be commercial. I once had a shooter's jacket, made in Portugal, from a brush pattern camouflage. But the epaulettes make me think it's some sort of genuine work shirt.

Hopefully one of our recently active Portuguese experts will have something to say about this.

Spanish patches for sure. It is a Portuguese pattern, but I don't think it was made in Portugal. Some of these pattern shirts were made for both the Greek and Portuguese army in Italy. Not sure if its military issue or a private purchase shirt.

The cloth might be Portuguese but the cut its not. Portuguese work fatigues were a kind of OD.

African perhaps?

Most likely some spare camo cloth and a sewing machine met.

Probably home made, or commercial...Never saw lower  pockets  like these used  on  military  garb.

They kind of remind me of the kind of cut that brands like Ranger and the like put out in the 70's.

Lower pockets like that are common for work uniforms in some nations. Germany comes immediately to mind. So does the Soviet Union and successor states. Open pockets are cheap!

If it were not for the camouflage pattern, it  could pass for gulag issue in some remote labor  camp

It can be African made or remade since there were tons of leftovers from the Portuguese Army in Angola, Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau.
